Gloria's interest in photography began at a very early age when she would wander into her father's studio to watch him work. He was a professional photographer and she was inspired by watching his images come to life in the darkroom. He gave her a Vivitar pocket camera when she was 10 years old, and she was snapping photos from that point on.

After earning a B. A. in Fine Art from George Washington University, focusing on Graphic Design, she started her own business designing and producing her own line of ornate wire and beaded jewelry. She expanded her catalog to include a wide range of home accessories which sold at galleries throughout the U.S.

Eventually, she went back to her field of study and started a graphic design company creating brochures, CD covers and a wide range of printed and web-based materials for well established area businesses. She never lost her fascination with the camera, often taking photos for her clients' presentations. During this time, she exhibited two shows of whimsical portraits entitled Mish Mash Mugs I & II.

She was always interested in textures, visual and tactile, and took thousands of pictures of various objects for their fascinating patterns, colors and shapes. Her work combined a dual fascination with textures and portraits, photography and graphics, playfulness and art.

After a long battle with breast cancer, Gloria left us in 2008. She is survived by her husband Gideon Freudmann and two daughters, Natasha and Sarina.
